SYNOPSIS


Alexandria Bothe is dead. When she lay there, freezing in the snow, she expected Death’s arms to be cold and unforgiving.But they were warm and kind.Dmytro, one of Death’s most beloved Reapers, is tasked to bring souls to his master as offerings. But when he met Alexandria, something drove him to take her with him to accompany his work as a Reaper.But then Dmytro goes missing.Shattered by his untimely disappearance, Alexandria makes her way back into the realm of the living to find out what fate befell her beloved. Except it is now 1918, and the entire world is entrenched in a terrible war. Given a new life and a new purpose, Alexandria joins the British Expeditionary Force as a runner in the hopes of finding out where Dmytro went.Dmytro has been cast out of his role as a Reaper. No longer allowed to be a part of Death’s shadowed council, Dmytro has been banished and cursed with mortality. Struggling to understand his mortal urges and emotions, Dmytro joins a civilian journalism division in France to try and figure out what his feelings mean, why he has been banished to the realm of the living, and what happened to Alexandria.If Alexandria and Dmytro want to be reunited, and save the people they have come to care about, they must find the beauty in destruction, the clarity in madness, and the hope where hope is lost.
